Floor-to-ceiling built-in media wall with integrated TV and hidden storage

Built-ins

Built-in cabinetry for the spaces between rooms.

Media walls, home offices, wine cellars, libraries — custom cabinetry that integrates into your architecture rather than sits on top of it. One supplier, one timeline, one finish standard across the home.

Four built-in categories. One integration standard.

  • Media Walls

Floor-to-ceiling entertainment cabinetry with integrated TVs, sound systems, and hidden storage. Engineered to disappear into the wall — flush hinges, cable management, and ventilation worked into the joinery, not added after.

  • Home Offices

Built-in desks, shelving, and filing — designed for actual work, not stock photography. We engineer cable management, lighting, and ergonomics into every project, and finish the integration with the same materials used elsewhere in the home.

  • Wine Cellars

Climate-controlled cellars and standalone wine walls. SET Form builds the cabinetry — racking, doors, lighting, integration with the room — and coordinates the cooling system with your climate-control specialist.

  • Home Libraries

Floor-to-ceiling library cabinetry with adjustable shelves, ladder rails, integrated reading lights, and bench seating where the architecture allows. For owners who actually own and read books.

Questions, answered.

  • What rooms work best for custom built-ins?

Almost any room benefits from built-ins: living rooms (media walls), studies (libraries and offices), bedrooms (built-in wardrobes), dining rooms (bar cabinetry, china storage), garages (organized storage). The advantage of built-ins is that they make a space look intentional and architectural rather than furnished.

  • How much does a custom built-in media wall cost in Miami?

Media walls at SET Form typically range $15,000–$60,000+ depending on width, height, TV integration, hidden storage complexity, and finish. A 10-foot media wall with integrated 75" TV, hidden sound bar, and warm wood veneer averages $25,000–$40,000. Full-wall installations with electric fireplace and cabinetry both sides go higher.

  • How long do built-ins take to design and install?

Most built-ins take 6 to 10 weeks from design approval. A media wall typically runs 8 weeks; a full home library or office can take 10–14 weeks depending on complexity and any electrical or carpentry coordination. We share a milestone calendar before the first invoice.

  • Can you match the wood and finish of my existing furniture or floors?

Yes — we color-match in our workshop and can match most common wood species. Send us a sample or a photo of the existing piece, plus the maker if known. For unusual finishes we may need a physical sample to color-match reliably. Match feasibility is confirmed in the design phase.

  • Do you coordinate with electricians and AV installers?

Yes — for media walls, wine cellars, and home offices we coordinate cable routing, power outlets, ventilation, and AV brackets into the cabinetry design so your electrician and AV installer have clean access. Final electrical, network, and AV hookup is handled by their licensed teams; the cabinetry is built ready for them.

  • What's the difference between built-in cabinetry and modular furniture?

Built-ins are fabricated to your exact wall dimensions, integrate with adjacent architecture (floors, ceilings, moldings), and are typically installed permanently. Modular furniture sits on a finished floor and can be re-arranged or removed. Built-ins look more architectural and use space more efficiently; modular pieces are more flexible if you may move.

  • Do built-ins need permits in Miami-Dade or Broward?

Cabinetry that's screwed to a wall and doesn't alter structural elements or electrical typically does not require a permit. If the built-in includes electrical (outlets, lighting) routed through walls, or if it's part of a larger renovation altering walls, your general contractor will pull the necessary permit. SET Form's installation is handled by our crews; we don't permit work that doesn't require it.

  • What hardware do you use in built-ins?

Blum and Hettich soft-close hinges, undermount drawer slides, and push-to-open mechanisms for handleless designs. Specialty hardware for libraries (ladder rails, adjustable shelf pins, bookend dividers) is sourced from Häfele and Salice. For wine cellars we use specific climate-rated hinges and seals.

  • Can you build wine cellars in Miami's climate?

Yes — wine cellars require a sealed envelope and a dedicated cooling system. SET Form builds the racking, doors, and interior; your climate specialist installs the cooling unit (typically WhisperKool, Wine Guardian, or KoolR). Doors are weather-stripped and double-glazed to maintain temperature. Cellar humidity control is critical in Miami — we spec all materials accordingly.

  • What's the warranty on a SET Form built-in?

Two years on cabinetry construction and finishes; one year on hardware. Blum hardware carries an additional lifetime mechanical warranty handled directly through Blum. Wine cellar cooling unit warranties are handled by the cooling unit manufacturer.
